Anybody know how to beat a ticket for driving out of your designated lane? I did it to avoid an accident.?

My vehicle experienced a malfunction while driving on a tow-lane State Highway. When the vehicle malfunctioned it pulled me to the left toward oncoming traffic. I over corrected, went off the right shoulder for a distance, came back onto the highway and saw a car coming in the opposite direction right toward me - it was a State Trooper. Rather than cross the center line I decided to run off the road. I was cited for driving out of my designated lane. I felt I should have been given a medal for avoiding an accident - with a State Trooper. I am taking the citation to court. How do I defend myself? I have a statement from a mechanic that indicates that my vehicle had a bad front left wheel bearing. Does that need to be notarized?
