I got a lip piercing with a pin, need help.?

So my friend pierced my lip at school with a needle, then it was too thin for a ring so my other friend let me burrow a pin (it had like an airplane on it) and I widened it with that. It's been like that for like 6 hours now with the pin in, I'm wondering when I can put a curved ring instead of a pin in there? Also, is there anything wrong with keeping a pin in there?
