Australians, Why do you want a republic?

I ask the same question to people in my country, New Zealand. There's been an increase of people wanting to become a republic in recent years, and what's worrying is that it's mainly people under the age of 35. They really don't understand the issues, the bigger picture or foresee the consequences.
