Did this ever happen...?

YES, in almost every decade since the '50s there has been talk that music is dying, going downhill, not as good as before, too violent, too simple, too weird, too wild, too dirty, too loud....you get the idea. There has always been some junk in with the good music and always will be. Of course that all depends on the personal preferences of the mes. The main thing is if YOU like what you hear, listen to that. If not, turn the dial. I personally was a hard rock lover and thought disco sucked. Now, 30 years later, I get a slight kick out of hearing the old disco songs(not that I'd buy them!). I think this complaining about music happens in all genres...country, rock, jazz, and the rest. I"m thankful we have a lot to choose from and can turn the dial.
